DuoPop 101: How to swap or clean your silicone ears.

Update (22/11/2018): This guide also works for DuoPop 2 ears.

Here is a quick guide on how to remove and replace the silicone ears on the DuoPop. You may want to do this if you need to clean the ears or if you need to replace an ear.

Firstly, you need to remove the microphone capsules and battery box from the main body shell.

You then need to unclip the outer lip of the silicone ear from the plastic body. Work your way around the edge until the outer section is free.

The inner silicone piece is a lot tougher to remove. To do so we need to get a good grip of the silicone we have previously freed and pull outwards. Do this part with some caution. There is a little plastic tube that can break off if pulled too violently. Pull outwards slowly until the ear comes free.

If you are wanting to clean your ears we recommend bathing them in warm, soapy water and then letting them air dry for a few hours until completely dry.

You can dry them by hand with a towel but make sure they are completely dry all over before putting them back onto the body.

The process for putting the ear back on is pretty straightforward. You first need to work the inner piece back into the main body. Make sure you have the ear the right way up!

It will be a bit tough but the squishy silicone will fit back in there. Just work it around the edge until it is all back in.

Once the inner silicone is back in place, the plastic tube needs to be aligned with the space embedded in the silicone. To do this, hold the ear and twist. You should only need to twist about 30-40 degrees either way to get everything aligned.

Once the inner section is all aligned, all you need to do is clip on the outer lip. We do the straight sections first and then do the curved edges but this is all down to personal preference.

And that's it! You should now have fresh ears on you DuoPop.
